Authenticator Code (TOTP)
Google or Microsoft TOTP Authenticator
TOTP stands for Time-based One-time Passwords and is a common form of 2-Step Verification. Unique numeric passwords are generated with an algorithm that uses the current time as an input. The time-based passwords expire every 30 seconds and therefore offer increased security for 2FA.
You can use either Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator app to generate these codes.
To avoid lock out, it is important to generate Backup Codes and store them securely.
Setup
Navigate to Account Settings > 2-Step Verification > Google Authenticator (TOTP).
The screen will display a QR code.
Open the Google or Microsoft Authenticator App on your phone (typically), scan the QR code on the screen. The app will acknowledge the QR code and produce a verification code.
Enter that verification code back into Vaulted. Click Setup 2-Factor button.
